HAPPY EASTER TO ALL OF MY FRIENDS:

HAPPY EASTER TO ALL OF MY FRIENDS:

HAPPY EASTER TO ALL OF MY FRIENDS:

I wish you all my deepest blessings and prayers for a new beginning, a resurrection and the renewal of faith and hope. Spring is a time of blossoms and fresh growth, externally and internally. And we need to embrace that sense of renewal now more than ever.

The spring holidays are a time when the most sacred Jewish and Christian celebrations overlap and when we should be sharing our commonality, not expanding our differences. Sometimes, like this year, Passover and Easter are close together, other times they aren’t. That’s because we use two different calendars. The Jewish calendar is a lunar one, based on the cycles of the Moon, while our secular one is based on the monthly partitions we have come to recognize.

But it’s important to remember that the Last Supper was, after all, a Passover Seder celebrating the Israelis Exodus from Egypt. When the holidays conjoin as they are this year it gives us a closer view of the connection between the religions, and a time when we can embrace the fact that we are all the children of the same God. This also includes Muslims who consider Abraham, the father of Ishmael, the patriarch of their religion as well. We are cousins and should treat each other as such. Ramadan begins on April 13th. So Happy Easter, Passover and Ramadan to you all. Let us share in the joys of our respective faith and find harmony and unity. Peace and love.
