Note: All aspects are most powerful and effective as they apply. Once the transit has completed, its force is lessened. The further it separates the weaker it becomes.

AUTHOR’S NOTES:
We are rapidly approaching that all important date in November when America will make a decision about its future that will affect the entire world. With each passing week we are closer and facing new and hitherto unpredictable challenges. The assault on the postal service, the distractions on the world stage, the crude and vile vilification of Biden, Harris and even Michelle Obama (Tucker Carlson be damned). Civility is a thing of the past. Although several Fox News commentators were very complimentary and gracious, which I found surprisingly hopeful, for the most part there isn’t even the illusion of courtesy or respect. We need to find common ground or our nation is in for a long and painful Civil Cold War. There are too many serious issues that must be fixed, including poverty, racism, climate change, financial inequality, international relationships and the rebuilding of our infrastructure that cannot be accomplished with half of the country at odds with the other half. “A nation divided against itself cannot stand…” A. Lincoln.

There are a number of powerful transits this month. Mars, which is traveling through Aries the sign of its rulership for a very long time will square Saturn and then retrograde, leaving that aspect in orb for many weeks. This will have a strong effect on the polls and the upcoming election. This transit is a test of our patience and endurance that can be frustrating and irritating. How we handle it as a collective will say much about our current state of affairs. Then with Mars retrograding on September 9th and Jupiter going direct on September 12th we will see a huge shift in energy that will have a profound effect on several levels of consciousness. Many things will come out in public and direct us down a different trail. Personally I believe that the wind is at Biden’s back and even with the dark path Trump has chosen it will not work and in the end the Democrats will prevail. But don’t expect an easy or clear way. Trump is putting up roadblocks wherever he can, and this will be a messy, angry and possibly violent transition. With the Sun and Mercury transiting through Virgo the sign most associated with details and the careful examination of things we can expect much to be uncovered and sifted through. It’s up to us as individuals to study the information that will come out and to judge its validity. Do so with care. And before you embrace some outlandish, destructive theory, such as QAnon, do your homework and understand the underlying meaning and purpose.

NEW MOON:
The New Moon falls on Tuesday August 18th at 10:42 P.M. EDT at 26 degrees Leo 35 minutes. The Leo New Moon brings a lively and effervescent atmosphere. This can be one of the most adventurous signs with a love of the performing arts and a desire to make its presence known. We all love the dramatics, and as long as there is a clear divide between onstage and off it’s a great time to engage in role playing and theatrics. This sign rules; children, games, gambling, creativity, acting, the stage, romance and all things childlike. Leos can be showy and great fun and I have always felt that August is the most romantic month. And though the Sun will leaves this sign and enter Virgo soon, this New Moon offers us an extension of this energy. In summer we are all like children playing and seeking love wherever we can find it. My most vivid memories of romance are in the summer, in the Hamptons, upstate New York at camp, traveling with my buddies and meeting someone new and exciting. And while this year because of our invisible foe, is different from any we have experienced in our lives, and most of us aren’t prepared to jump into a new affair, there is still that magic in the air. It’s the seduction, the come-on, the sly wink as you catch someone’s eye that holds the great promise of what will be. It’s writing poetry or a song about your potential paramour or looking back at one of the great loves of your life, or just feeling the flow of summer’s warmth across your body as you wrangle into your perhaps too small swimsuit and tighten your stomach as you pass that person on the beach who strikes your fancy. Don’t be afraid to look silly or act out in a foolish manner. That’s what children do. They aren’t as aware of their societal position yet, and so can be freer and more honest. Be that child that is still within you and spends most of its time hiding in the shadows of your grownup persona. Let it take control for a little while and remind you that life is filled with potential, and the possibilities are only as limited as your imagination. That is the gift that proud, opinionated, hopelessly romantic and charming Leo has to offer. I think we all need that magic now more than ever.

MERCURY ENTERS VIRGO:
On Wednesday August 19th at 9:30 P.M. EDT until September 5TH AT 3:46 P.M. EDT the planet of thought and communication will travel through this mutable earth sign, one of the two we give it rulership over (the other being Gemini). Virgo has a well-earned reputation as being good with details, fastidious, critical and at times overly picky. These are traits that can be wonderfully exacting and conscientious, or demanding and distracting depending upon how that energy is used. There is this meticulous nature to this sign that is eagerly sought out in certain professions that require such concentration and, for those who feel comfortable with its power, also pursued in relationships. Finding the right partner has to do with what works for you, not what someone else’s ideal or opinion is based on. This transit has a very positive and productive side. It can help us all decipher the underlying meaning of things. This is a very good aspect for dealing with all paperwork and for putting your plans into a constructive and organized fashion. Now we have the ability to use the rules to ensure a fair and balanced result and to keep things on the up and up. Important conversations will be direct and there is a tendency to be very honest and direct. This is one of the traits Virgos are known for.

But there is another potential to this energy. While Mercury is in Virgo we will all be apt to pay more attention to the little things. As the old saying goes “the devil is in the details”. That is truer than many recognize. It’s often difficult to hide a crime of magnitude, but easy to sneak a little here and there. In my years in the arts I have read countless contracts and while the BIG PRINT may give the artist what he or she demands, upon closer scrutiny there are sometimes things in small print that can contradict and ultimately invalidate the agreement in ways that won’t be obvious for a long time. That is why it requires such attention and examination, and why show biz lawyers make so much money.
So what does that say to us now as we are trying to navigate our own lives as well as dealing with this all important election? For one thing you must pay close attention to what you are agreeing to. Just because Mercury is in Virgo and we are all more intent on looking at the details, remember that those you are in contest with are also doing the same thing and in some cases trying to find those little obscure places where they can sneak in a clause that will undermine the very purpose of what you are trying to achieve. This is obvious in our current political situation where there are actors who are finding loopholes to our very laws and institutions as they attempt to redirect our attention while undercutting the foundation of our collective agreements. It is up to each of us and ultimately our more honest elected officials to hunt these down and at least convey what the potential results may mean. This may also be true in your personal lives. It’s vital that you listen to, examine and read everything in a nit-picky manner to ensure that you know what you are agreeing to. It will do you little good down the road to realize that you have made a mistake when it’s too late to change it.

Use this time to go over all of your important work and agreements. Have discussions that will help you direct your energy and projects where they will do the most good. And don’t be afraid to have important conversations even if they may bring some things to the surface that aren’t easy to deal with. As long as you know what’s what you can make knowledgeable decisions.

THE SUN ENTERS VIRGO:
On Saturday August 22nd at 11:45 A.M. EDT the Sun joins Mercury in this mutable earth sign. For the next month we will have this underlying desire to put thing in order. This is a very positive and productive sign, although it doesn’t quite have that devil-may-care attitude of Leo. Now we are preparing for the next season, as we always do during the mutable signs. It’s a time of change, not radical but evolutionary. The weather will begin to get cooler. There will be those hot sticky days, though less frequently. This sign is ruled by Mercury and it is interested in the details and all intellectual pursuits. We begin the school year during Virgo, quite appropriately.
This year, not only because of the pandemic but because of the intensely important and polarizing election we are even more concerned with paying attention to the small issues. Do you have a backup mask, hand sanitizer, did you remember to use it after going to the ATM, did you vote? In world events this will be a most important time leading up to this election. Issues such as the state of the postal service are tremendously important and the battles will be fought not with guns and riots but through laws and focus on what can and can’t be done.
In our personal lives as the Sun transits through this mutable earth sign we must all stay alert and avoid mistakes. For many this will be a year so different from any before. Schools will not open in most areas, and parents will still be faced with the issue of what to do with their children until things return to something resembling normalcy. This is where our imaginations come into play. If we can conceive of a solution we can make it happen. Have faith in our inner selves and in the intelligence of the collective. We will find solutions.

MARS SQUARES SATURN:
On Monday August 24th at 2:19 P.M. EDT this obstructive aspect will put limitations on us all. This isn’t an aspect for a day or two, but an extended period of some frustration and irritability. Be prepared and try to have some patience. Mars rules the ego, our basic energy level and the muscles in the body (among other things). Because of the retrograde motion of Mars in early September this will stay in orb until October, a long time to deal with this energy. Saturn, as you may know is the planet of restrictions. Its goal is to put boundaries in place and to ensure a solid foundation. At times Saturn will slow us down to make certain that we have put in place that structure upon which we can build. We all move too quickly sometimes, especially when we are trying to catch up financially or professionally, and many are doing just that. While this isn’t a terribly pleasant or easy aspect, and it can create a great deal of tension, it isn’t here to hurt you or to damage your chances. Its purpose is to test and prod to ensure that the resulting decisions are realistic and have a real purpose. There may be some rather intense confrontations and most certainly someone will not be happy with the results. Those less enlightened will not be apt to back down, but will be prone to double down on their beliefs and cantankerously stand their ground, even if they know their position is untenable. But if you can accept what the universe is showing you, you can learn a great deal and sift through the noise and activities to your advantage. Pick and choose your battles with care. This is a low energy transit and you may not have enough oomph for all the fights that may arise. Take on the important ones and leave the rest for a Jupiter transit when there will be a plethora of energy.

MERCURY TRINES URANUS:
On Tuesday August 25th at 11:18 A.M. EDT our minds will be moving quickly and information will come at us at an accelerated pace. Try not to be overwhelmed by the amount of input you are receiving. If you can relax and breathe you will be able to handle what is thrown at you. Because this is a trine it is more manageable and can be directed where you need it. This is a very positive aspect and will open up our minds to new ideas and ways of handling the challenges we are all facing. Pay attention to your thoughts. You may come up with something unique and exceptional that may help you deal with your most pressing issues.

VENUS OPPOSES JUPITER:
On Tuesday August 25th at 6:26 P.M. EDT this wonderfully pleasant and satisfying transit will give us all a day of great potential. But it comes with a slight warning. Venus is all about the pleasures of life and its more carnal applications. It is sensuous and earthy and is known for its connection to the bodily joys of intimacy and indulgence. Jupiter has no boundaries and little regard for restrictions of any kind. It’s interesting that yesterday we experienced Mars in square to Saturn (one of the most limiting of transits) and today we have this extreme opposite. You should enjoy yourself and seek out life’s pleasures. This is a day for all social interaction, intimate or not, and for some pampering. But without some restraints put in place it is very likely that you may overindulge in food, drink and physical pleasures of all sorts. With a little self-control this will be a very good day to visit the Roman baths (metaphorically speaking) and for a picnic, a day in nature or at the beach, or any other form of physical enjoyment. But when these two heavenly bodies are is close connection the following day or so could also result in a hangover of any sort.

VENUS TRINES NEPTUNE:
On Thursday August 27th at 5:13 P.M. EDT this very creative aspect will bring a brief period when our imaginations will have room to play. Grab a notebook (or your laptop) and sit out in the park. You may just feel the urge to write a poem, song or letter to an old friend. Certainly our appreciation of the arts will be heightened and if you aren’t inclined to write you may enjoy a visit to a museum or other creative venture. A visit to nature will also be very stimulating. Venus loves the natural world and an escape from the urban jungle, even for a few hours can rejuvenate you and refresh you batteries.

MERCURY TRINES JUPITER:
On Saturday August 29th at 9:28 A.M. EDT this very positive and hopeful trine will give us all a brief period of enthusiasm and optimism. This is a good day for all communications. If you need to have an important conversation this is a good day for it You are both speaking with a direct and confident air and you’re open to hearing what the other person has to say. Make plans or set your sights on the future. Jupiter has a far-sighted attitude and can often see far down the road. Travel of any sort is favored. Mercury rules short trips while Jupiter rules longer ones. When these two are positively aspected it gives us an opportunity to move freely and gain much from the experience. You have a sense of expansion and wish to encounter as much of life as you can. Travel will enlarge your perspective and give you a different point of view. This is also a great time for anything educational. Sign up for a webinar, online classes or pick up a book you’ve wanted to read. Look for any way that you can enrich your consciousness. You have a real desire to learn, so try to take the blinders off and see as much of the universe as possible.

VENUS OPPOSES PLUTO:
On Sunday August 30th at 9:31 A.M. EDT this potentially difficult opposition may bring up some power struggles, especially in personal relationships. Pluto wants to uncover the truth at any cost. It demands that we dig deeply into the subject and bring to the surface whatever we discover. Venus is a gentle and very personal energy that isn’t by nature very forceful or combative. When these two are in conflict our desire for a calm and pleasing atmosphere is challenged by that need for the truth. Be careful in your interactions with those closest to you. You or the other person may be coming across with a harsher tone than you realize and there may be an edge to conversations and intimate contact. Because this coincides with Mercury opposite Neptune (see below) there will be a layer of some confusion and misdirection today as well. The combination might make it hard to see things clearly and you could overreact to a small issue without understanding what’s really going on.

MERCURY OPPOSES NEPTUNE:
On Sunday August 30th at 2:44 P.M. EDT this confusing and challenging aspect will make it difficult to communicate. Any misunderstandings could easily be blown out of proportion. You need to pay attention and make sure that you are saying exactly what you mean, and that you understand what the other person is saying. Don’t take things at face value. Take the time to explain yourself and to double check all paperwork. This is not a good day to have an important conversation, sign a contract or to negotiate a deal. You may not be as clear about the details as you think and you could regret the results. Wait a day or so until this energy wanes and then have that talk.

FULL MOON IN PISCES:
On Wednesday September 2nd at 1:22 A.M. EDT at 10 degrees Pisces 12 minutes the Full Moon in Pisces completes. As summer wanes and we see the light shift and the temperature drop our attention begins to turn towards responsibilities and the obligations we pushed aside in the warmth and promise of the endless season that always ends too soon. Pisces has a strong desire to serve, to take care of those in need and to find the balance between what is real and what is illusion. It isn’t the most realistic of signs and can often get lost in a concept of service that isn’t based in truth. But really, how much of life is? Aren’t we all sort of living a falsehood we have agreed to accept? Well, so much for philosophy for now.
This is a time when many issues will come to a head. This is the last sign of the zodiac and will be concerned with the endings of things as we prepare for new beginnings. Yes, Aires is the start of the New Year, and technically a Full Moon is only the peak of the lunar cycle, but 4 times a year as each cardinal sign begins we start a new season and a period with the promise of a fresh beginning and all the hope that entails.

The Sun will enter Libra at the end of September and we will begin autumn. The time between this Full Moon and then is a period of completions and preparation. Try to bring your projects to fruition, if you can. As we move ever closer to that ominous date in November when our nation will decide on its future path there are so many issues of balance, fairness and need that are being brought up. Will we continue to turn our backs on the poorer disenfranchised in our society, or will be begin a new attempt at inclusion and equitability? While this Full Moon is only a moment in time and its effects limited, it represents a bigger question regarding how we define ourselves. With the ongoing Mars – Saturn square that will suppress our egos and demand accountability this month will have an outsized influence on how that definition is resolved. Take a moment over the next few days and try to imagine yourself as one of the less fortunate struggling to have even the smallest chance at some success for themselves or their children. If you can do that and feel the empathy you will understand what this Full Moon represents and possibly be shown a different path that can be of great salvation to your soul.

VENUS OPPOSES SATURN:
On Wednesday September 2nd at 8:18 A.M. EDT this opposition will make it difficult to reach out. Many people will feel the restriction of Saturn’s influence and it’s really a better day for contemplation and private time. This isn’t a very sociable aspect. It does have a positive side, as all transits do. We will tend to be realistic about our finances and relationships and can view these issues in a clear and unemotional manner. But that also implies that it will be difficult to express our feelings and you may come across as cold or calculating, even if that isn’t your nature.

THE SUN TRINES URANUS:
On Wednesday September 2nd at 10:09 A.M. EDT our innovative side will take over for a short while. This is a very positive aspect that will give us all a chance to experiment and seek our new information and new ways of tackling our problems. This is a quick-moving aspect and its effects will not be earth-shaking. But it is a day when you can take off the blinders and see more of what the world has to offer. Get out and see what’s available to you. Use your imagination and seek out new and different input, whether it’s a new book, a different kind of music or meeting new friends, this trine has the potential to show you the road less taken. Take it.

MERCURY TRINES SATURN:
On Thursday September 3rd at 3:23 A.M. EDT we will all be seeing things in a very realistic and controlled manner. This is a good day for any paperwork or for putting your office in order. Your mind will be focused and you can eliminate much of the superfluous noise that can be distracting. This isn’t an exciting or terribly stimulating aspect, but it does its job and if you use it to your advantage you can get a lot done. Any important conversation will be level-headed and you can clear the air of miscommunications or left over confusion. You just have to be willing to face the truth about things and to do the work necessary to achieve your goals.

VENUS SQUARES MARS:
On Friday September 4th at 5:12 A.M. EDT the male and female planets are in conflict. This occurs several times a year and it isn’t an earth-shattering situation. But it would be wise to keep this in mind in your interactions with others. But let’s look at this from a different perspective. We are all made up of male and female. This has nothing to do with your sexual preference, your politics or how you dress. It is the androgyny of our species – the aggressive/receptive qualities we all share to some extent. This square represents the clash of those two sides of us all. And while this can manifest as difficulties between the sexes, and it would be wise to remember this as you try to find compromise, it is equally a time of inner struggle as we all attempt to balance the various sides of our personalities. Don’t think of Venus and Mars and male and female. Try to imagine them as yin and yang, the two sides of all life looking for compromise and breathing in and out. If you focus on your breath and don’t rush to judgment this square won’t cause you too much trouble. But if you aren’t able to concentrate and you overreact, it will be difficult to relate with others because you are having a problem dealing with the parts of you.

MERCURY ENTERS LIBRA:
On Saturday September 5th at 3:46 P.M. EDT until Sunday September 27th at 3:41 A.M. EDT Mercury will sit in this cardinal air sign. Libra is known for its passive-aggressive nature. It doesn’t like direct conflict and will go to great lengths to avoid it. It is seeking balance and commonality in its indirect fashion. But it isn’t really a submissive or compliant energy and can often get its way through a less than direct action, circumventing the obvious approach in favor of a backstreet deal. That is the best way to handle our communications while this planet is traveling here. Libra rules most intimate relationships of all sorts, so you can expect that there will be a lot of “relationship talks” going on this month. (I know, sigh, who needs it?) There’s a point to what we experience, and hashing out what is going on between you and another is sometimes necessary to clear the air and allow for more growth. Try not to be stubborn or avoid these talks. But remember that Libra won’t usually just come out and say what’s on it mind. It will hem and haw and beat around the bush. I’ve had phone calls with some of my Libra-ish friends that go on for 90 minutes talking about the weather, your dog, Donald Trump and all sorts of innocuous subjects, and just as we are about to hang up that person will say what’s really on their mind and the actual purpose of the conversation. Shrinks call it “doorknob therapy”. You may call it a pain in the ass. But in any case, it will eventually bring out what’s most important, so pay attention and let the conversation go where it may.

VENUS ENTERS LEO:
On Sunday September 6th at 3:2 A.M. EDT until Friday October 2nd at 4:48 P.M. EDT romance will take a decidedly theatrical path as many play out their fantasies in the context of real life. Well, isn’t romance really just a play anyway? The feelings and needs that it brings out in us are very real, and may ultimately be one of the only truly important issues in life. But the seduction, the flirting, the half-lies we tell ourselves and each other, and all of the role-playing that goes into our intimate connections are the fodder of playwrights, songsmiths, novelists and poets. While Venus is traveling here you will find that many will be emboldened to speak their minds and make their feelings known. There will be much acting out, and a Shakespearian tone to the simplest of conversations. Dinner may turn into Hamlet, or a drive in the country might evoke thoughts of As You Like It. Comedy and tragedy are, after all, only the two sides of a single coin. So enjoy the show, play your part and have some fun. That’s what Leo wants in the long run. But try not to take everything too seriously. “All the world’s a restaurant, and all the men and women merely entrees”. Mortimer Shakespeare.

THE SUN TRINES JUPITER:
On Wednesday September 9th at 12:04 P.M. EDT this very positive and optimistic aspect will give us a day of enthusiasm and expansion. This is a very sociable transit and you should plan on spending time with your closest and dearest. This is a time to explore the world and to enlarge your perspective anyway that you can. This is a good day for travel, which will do just that. A new point of view can go a long way towards expanding your attitude and outlook. Even a drive in the country or to the beach may give you just what you need to shake off the dust and cobwebs. This is a good day to interact with others. Most of us will feel the positive energy this aspect emits, and while this isn’t powerful enough to change your life in profound ways, it can refresh you and give you hope and zeal as you trudge through the day-to-day issues of your life. Sometimes it only takes an hour or two to rejuvenate your fantasies. And if that’s all you have, make the most of it.

MARS RETROGRADES:
On Wednesday September 9th at 6:22 P.M. EDT until November 13th at 7:36 P.M. EST this very important transit begins. Mars only retrogrades once every 2 years because of its proximity to Earth’s orbit. But when it does it has a powerful effect. This retrograde will last about 2 months and because of God’s comedic temperament, in an era of unbridled anger, frustration and combativeness it keeps Mars in Aries, the sign of its rulership all told for more than 6 month, having first entered in late June and not exiting until early January. So what does all of this mean?
Well, for one thing when a planet is in retrograde its energy tends to be internalized more than usual, and it can be difficult to express in the outside world what that planet represents. Mars is all about ego, testosterone and battles. It is, after all, the god of war, and as our nation gears up for the contest for its future we may find that there is less outward fighting. This doesn’t mean that the two sides have found peace and are now willing to hold hands and sing Kumbaya. Rather it implies that much of the nastiness will be more hidden and underhanded. In any case you can certain expect that we are entering the final throws of an unimagined national battle that will be contentious until the very end.

THE SUN OPPOSES NEPTUNE:
On Friday September 11th at 4:26 P.M. EDT this low energy aspect will take a lot of the oomph out of most of us. This isn’t a good day to initiate new projects or to attempt something that demands a great deal of force. This can be a confusing and distracting day when whatever you try to accomplish seems to go askew. We may hear some bad news today, and with the world is such wonderful shape lord only knows what that might be. This is often a very bad day in the stock markets, and with Jupiter about to change direction tomorrow I would be cautious if you’re day trading.

JUPITER GOES DIRECT:
On Saturday September 12th at 8:41 P.M. EDT the planet of growth, optimism and education finally turns around and begins its forward motion. This has been a very difficult retrograde for Jupiter. While the stock have continues to stay near the highs, much of that was a result of manipulation by the FEDS and exuberant overly inflated confidence and buoyancy as we all await some good news regarding a vaccine. Jupiter has much to do with world events. While it rules the law and isn’t actually directly a ruler of political situations, it is often prominent in any world events, and I expect that we will hear some important news very soon that will have a massive effect on the coming election.
This may be a turnaround in some financial matters. We are entering the beginning of autumn, although it doesn’t officially begin until September 22nd. But this is basically the end of summer and a time of transition. If there is good news on any fronts this change of direction will manifest positively in the world’s economy. But if there is any bad news it could easily be blown out of proportion, as is often Jupiter’s way. Are we about to hear good news regarding a vaccine and the depletion of the virus? Or are we heading into the dreaded second wave that we have all been hearing about? Jupiter expands whatever it comes in contact with. Astrology students often misinterpret that as always being good news. And while Jupiter can bring luck and good timing, it can also exacerbate problems and make them much worse.

VENUS SQUARES URANUS:
On Tuesday September 15th at 11:29 A.M. EDT this exciting and unpredictable aspect will make it difficult to direct your relationships. Many people are seeking something unusual and radical, and you may not be satisfied with your normal and comfortable life, partner or projects. If something is stable and has been around for a long time you may need to shake it up a bit in order to keep it fresh. This won’t destroy anything that has a solid foundation. It’s just that Uranus really wants new and impulsive input and isn’t usually satisfied with the safe and secure. It wants adventure and stimuli, sometimes without regard for boundaries or stability. But if a situation, relationship or project has grown dull and no longer has the capacity for growth, this square could mark the end.

MERCURY SQUARES JUPITER:
On Thursday September 17th at 6:34 A.M. EDT right on the Dark of the Moon this square will complete. This is usually an optimistic energy, although it may be built on half-truths or overly inflated confidence. It is easy to be influenced by Jupiter’s expansive point of view, and you may hear many lies, false witness and other distractions as we head into the next lunar cycle. You need to examine things and think through what you are being told. Is it realistic or just fantasy? The more information you can acquire the better. People talk a lot when Mercury and Jupiter are in contact. But they don’t always say anything of substance. Sometimes it’s just to fill the air with the sound of their own voice. Be careful and filter out what is being presented, and make sure you aren’t being led down that famous primrose path. Jupiter wants to be optimistic and enthusiastic, even if it isn’t really called for. It’s up to you to decide what’s real.

DARK OF THE MOON:
The next New Moon falls on Thursday September 17th at 7:00 A.M. EDT at 25 degrees Virgo 01 minutes. The day or two leading up to it will be a particularly low energy period. If you tend to be emotional this may be a very trying time each month. I have found that people with prominent moons or a Cancer Sun, Moon or ascendant respond to the lunar cycles more intensely than others. Spend this time finishing up anything that is incomplete, don’t try to initiate new projects on a waning moon, it just won’t work out. Once the New Moon hits you begin new projects or attempt a new approach to an existing problem. If you have been living in a situation or involved in a relationship that is intolerable or has outlived its usefulness this would be the proper time to move on with your life. If you have been working on a project that is almost complete but you seem to lack the energy for the finality, you must push during these low energy days to end the matter once and for all. If you don’t, when the New Moon arrives it will bring this “dead” energy along with it and conflict with the newer force being presented. Each month we are offered a chance to clean house, so to speak.

Below is a list of times this month when the Moon is Void of Course and neither important decisions nor purchases should be made during these periods. The Void of Course Moon is a time when we should try to center ourselves and deal with spiritual matters not materialistic ones. Any decisions made on the VC Moon will not turn out the way we had expected.

The Moon is Void of Course from the time it makes its last major aspect in a sign until it enters the next sign. For example, if the Moon squares Mars at 27 degrees Aries and then has no more aspects until it enters Taurus it will be Void of Course for three degrees or about 6 hours. The aspects used are the conjunction, sextile, square, trine, and opposition. All times are Eastern Daylight Time:

August 19th 1:38 A.M. – 4:20 A.M.
August 20th 11:37 P.M. – August 21st 5:16 A.M.
August 23rd 12:20 A.M. – 6:16 A.M.
August 25th 2:27 A.M. – 8:49 A.M.
August 27th 8:00 A.M. – 1:37 P.M.
