AUTHOR’S NOTES:

We have entered a new era in American and world politics. In astrology we think of the planet Uranus as a radical and unpredictable energy that often represents conflict and instability. Taurus is the most stable of signs and rules finances, values and the structure we have grown to rely upon. When these two energies conjoin something has to give. The status quo cannot remain the same, it simply must change. Now as Uranus enters Taurus we are seeing the results of that change. No matter how you feel about it, it’s obvious that Trump has ripped apart the fabric of our society in so many ways it’s difficult to keep up. The last time Uranus entered Taurus FDR created the New Deal, also tearing up the rules and setting our culture on a path destined to stabilize it and establish new ways of distributing the collective wealth. But it wasn’t an easy path and was very disruptive at the time. And there continues to be much resistance to the changes he installed so long ago. Here we are 84 years later with this energy once again seeking a reversal of values. But this time it is in exactly the opposite direction. Wealth is being distributed mostly to the wealthy. All of the economic programs Roosevelt put into place, including Social Security, unemployment benefits, food stamps, and free trade are threatened in ways we have not seen since the 1920s. How this will fare in the long run is up to how hard people want to preserve these programs and the underlying foundation they have created. If the society does not push hard they will disappear behind closed doors by an overwhelmingly conservative judicial put in place by Trump, and that conservative agenda will win. A good example of this is the Supreme Court’s decision in an expected 5-4 vote upheld the purge of Ohio’s voter registration.

Trump’s attack on the nations of the G7 is unprecedented, and will isolate our nation economically and politically in unexpected, Uranian ways. While his embrace of Russia and Putin along with most of the world’s dictators is very clear. Trump is a contrarian. With Uranus conjunct his Sun and in opposition to his Moon he can’t help himself. He feels the need to upset every apple cart he encounters. You say black, he says white, no matter what he thinks the right answer may be. He has no self-control nor will he allow anyone else to put limitations on him. He’s like a little boy who will burn down the house rather than accept a curfew. It’s just a matter of time.

This month we will see a number of potentially upsetting aspect. Mars will begin it’s once every two year retrograde on June 26th. I discuss it later in this newsletter. That is a powerful period that often coincides with when the world is on edge. How it will manifest this time will have much to do with the decisions being made by this administration and the reaction the world will have.

Mercury will square Uranus June 30th. Mercury will oppose Mars July 5th. These are two days that will require your close attention. Be careful.

Jupiter will go direct on July 10th. Jupiter’s reversal of direction implies a change of direction in the financial markets. Although it often represents a leg up in the stocks, it has at times also represented the top of the equities. With Saturn in trine to Uranus this summer there is support underneath the NYSE. But that’s not necessarily a new bull market. Personally I believe we are heading into a bear market that will have several serious downturns. The first will be next June when Uranus lands on the NYSE Venus. Then in 2020 when Saturn conjuncts Pluto, along with Mars and Jupiter in the mix, we will see the results of some of the decisions being made now. But for this summer I think we simply go sideways, as we have for the past 6 months.

In last month’s newsletter I wrote about Uranus entering Taurus, a very important change of energy. Below is the last paragraph from my author’s notes. While the recent and ongoing events in our nation and in world politics is very upsetting and destabilizing, it’s not completely unexpected. Those who have been paying attention for the past decade have seen decay in society and in faith in the common goals we have grown to accept. Trump and the right-wing faction simply grabbed hold of that uncertainty and used it to gain power. That power will not be easily reassigned. It will take longer and be much harder than anyone can guess. The times have changed and with those changes come new challenges as well as new opportunities to redefine what direction the world goes.

This ingress of Uranus into Taurus will turn many things on their heads. But it doesn’t imply that thing will all be bad, only changed. In fact, some who have been lacking in success and opportunity may find that this opens doors in unexpected areas, and gives them a chance to make positive and productive alterations in their lives. While some who have had abundance may suddenly find that things have changed for them as well, perhaps creating obstacles where they used to have an open path. The one thing that is certain is that things are about to change in radical an unexpected ways. Keep your eyes and ears open. Opportunity sometimes knocks softly.

NEW MOON:

The New Moon falls on Wednesday June 13th at 3:43 P.M. EDT at 22 degrees Gemini 44 minutes, and it’s a Void Of Course New Moon. This New Moon will place much emphasis on communications and relationships. We tend to think of Venus and Mars as the planets most associated with personal relationships, but in truth how we talk to each other is the foundation of most connections, and Gemini is very much a part of that process. This month we will all be seeking better ways of expressing ourselves and finding common ground. Because of Gemini’s well-earned sense of duality and a tendency to quickly change direction and moods, it’s important to try and keep a clear sense of exactly what you hope to achieve in any situation and to aim for that goal. As with all four of the mutable signs this is a month when it will be easier to alter our path and open our consciousness to new ideas and ways of seeking things. But the duality of Gemini can make it difficult to make final choices. Don’t let indecision interfere with your goals. As the old saying goes – not to decide is to decide.

As with all New Moons this is an opportunity to redirect your energy into new projects and objectives. You can expect to be busy with emails, phone calls, etc. and it may be difficult to keep up with it all. Make notes and pay attention to details. Because this New Moon is Void of Course many things will not turn out the way you had planned this month. Keep an open mind and try not to be too set in your attitudes. Changes may come that are unexpected, and if something must be redirected you would be wise to allow it to do so.

VENUS ENTERS LEO:

On Wednesday June 13th at 5:54 P.M. EDT until July 9th at 10:32 P.M. EDT the planet of money and love will enter this outgoing fire sign. Leo rules the stage, and for the next month we can expect romance to take on a more public role. Many people will display dramatics in their interaction with a significant other or in a flirtatious encounter, in some cases going a bit overboard to make a point. But don’t take it too seriously. This is a fun loving sign, and romantic encounters as well as friendships will favor a breezy attitude, and any overt histrionics may just be for show. But Leo is also a fixed sign, and once it has made a choice it can be quite difficult to reverse that opinion. So make sure you are happy with the decisions you have made, especially in relationships. With Venus about to square unpredictable Uranus tomorrow you can expect some sudden and erratic interactions. This is not a good few days for any permanent verdict about relationships. You are probably responding to the excitement of the moment and not seeing the whole picture, and you could regret a choice once it is made. Don’t take everything at face value. Try to dig a little deeper and see what the real motivation is. In financial matters it may be difficult to keep tabs on what you’re spending, so use a little restraint.

VENUS SQUARE URANUS:

On Thursday June 14th at 11:33 P.M. EDT this impulsive aspect could lead to sudden encounters. It may be exciting and adventurous, but might not have staying power. Many things that begin under Uranus aspects can be erratic and change direction radically, often without warning. If you begin a new relationship around this time you would be wise to allow some time to pass before committing yourself. If it stands the test of time and continues to fulfill your needs, then you may have found an exciting partner. But if there is a sense of volatility and you if don’t find the solid footing you need, you may be in a short-lived encounter and may be better off waiting for something a bit more stable. With Venus in the fixed fire sign it will be difficult to reverse direction once you make a choice and you may wind up with a very unstable situation.

In financial matters this can be a day when decisions regarding money and values are not realistic and there can be some sudden expenditure you hadn’t counted on. It’s a few days when money just seems to fly out of your wallet no matter how hard you try to be constrained, so be careful and think before you buy.

This is a good day for any different or unusual form of entertainment. If you usually prefer classical music, perhaps a jazz club would be more rewarding tonight. You can expect the unexpected in many areas of life, which can be upsetting or exciting – or perhaps a bit of both. Don’t stick to your usual routine. Get out and see what the universe has to offer. Just don’t put yourself into situations where you commit to something that will not seem quite as acceptable in a few days.

MERCURY OPPOSITE SATURN:

On Friday June 15th at 9:47 P.M. EDT this somewhat dour aspect will lower the energy level for most of us. Communications will be difficult, although any serious conversation will certainly get to the bottom of the situation. It’s a good time for important issues, but this isn’t a good day for a first date or throwing a party. Most people will feel Saturn’s restrictiveness and it would be better to wait until this passes for social gatherings. Get your work done and deal with your responsibilities first. If you do so, the weekend will feel much more relaxed and you can enjoy yourself. But if you leave your obligations untended to you won’t be able to shake the pressure they will exert. If there is a conversation that you have ignored and something needs to be said you will probably say it now.

NEPTUNE RETROGRADES:

On Monday June 18th at 7:27 P.M. EDT until November 24th at 8:09 P.M. EST Neptune begins its yearly trek backwards. In many ways Neptune is the most unique of the planets. It’s domain is least attached to material issues, so when it retrogrades it at times feels more at home than while it’s direct. But because of its tendency to be more about the ethereal side of life it’s easy to get misdirected or confused. During its period of backward motion creative ventures will be deeper and less concerned with how the general public will respond. While this is very positive for the artist within, it doesn’t fare all that well as a time of presentation to the world. I always try to release my music or books while Neptune is going direct, although sometimes that is out of my control. Spend some time reviewing how you look at your true goals and ask what your soul needs.

This will be a period of internal examination and a strong desire for spiritual connection. This is a good time to learn mediation or for deepening your attachment to your internal conversation. Because Neptune has little regard or concern for the material world it is only in the arts and medicine that this retrograde may influence financial or career matters.

MERCURY TRINE JUPITER:

On Tuesday June 19th at 3:43 P.M. this optimistic and outgoing trine will make us all more receptive to new ideas and all forms of communication. This is a good day for any important conversation or for socializing. Most people will be open-minded and quite chatty. Any educational endeavor will be rewarding and a visit to a bookstore (if you can find one) or doing some work on line should open your consciousness. It’s a great day for travel, so if you can, get away for a day and let your mind wander. Mercury rules short journeys while Jupiter has domain over longer trips. This combination affords us the opportunity to move about freely and to experience some new adventures. If you can get away this would be a good day for a drive, long walk or a day at the beach. You’ll gain much from a journey and may find your thoughts going in a new direction. You will also enjoy the company of others and should engage in interaction of some sort.

MERCURY TRINE NEPTUNE:

On Wednesday June 20th at 11:59 P.M. EDT this creative energy will bring out the poet in us all. If you work in the arts this will be a productive day and a good time to examine your work and seek new inspiration. This is also a day of spiritual connection. Meditation of other forms of inner searching will feel easy and may bring you some much needed peace. It’s a time when you may feel more inclined to help others so keep your eyes open to those in need. Anyway that you can do so will prove very satisfying whether it’s working for a charity or helping out a friend. You communications will take on a very airy attitude and you should let the conversation go where it will without restraint. You may be surprised at what you hear.

THE SUN ENTERS CANCER:

On Thursday June 21st at 6:07 P.M. EDT summer officially begins. For the next month family matters will take precedent and you will be more likely to spend time with those closest to you. A new romance is certainly possible, but it will feel more like family and have a strong connection to your past. That isn’t a bad thing, and it may produce a connection that lasts a long time, but probably not a fleeting summer fling. Next month when the Sun is in Leo you have a better chance of stirring up the goddess of sexual liberation. Now it’s more about the soul than the body. Cancer rules our association to the past, and this sign along with its opposite Capricorn are the two energies most likely to hold onto connections from childhood and to seek continuity in relationships. This doesn’t mean that everyone will sudden want to get married, but there will be a tendency to reach out to those with whom we feel an ongoing thread in life. Old friends and lovers may resurface, and you may find that there is still something that you need to work through. We will all be prone to thinking about the past and revisiting some events that feel incomplete. Just don’t get yourself so caught up in yesterday that you forget about tomorrow.

VENUS OPPOSES MARS:

On Thursday June 21st at 12:54 P.M. EDT this complicated opposition might make it difficult for the sexes to relate. This can be a stimulating transit, and there may be a strong desire to hook up with someone, but if you begin a new relationship under this aspect you may find that there are complications down the road that seem almost fated. Remember, every relationship has a “birth chart” just like individuals, and the nature of the relationship is in some ways predestined by that chart. Venus opposite Mars will stir up feelings of sexuality or friendship, and many will act upon them. If you are willing and able to work through the issues this will bring up, it may prove to be a very important connection. But it usually isn’t an easy one. I believe that anything worthwhile requires work and compromise, and this is no exception. Although for many of us the thought of having to constantly struggle in a relationship isn’t pleasant, a certain amount of disagreement can be productive. It’s just not wise to enter into a connection that is by nature combative. Then you will always be waiting for the next shoe to drop. This can be a good day for a social gathering as the sexes will be interested in interaction. Just don’t propose to anyone you meet today until you’ve had a chance to really examine the potential.

THE SUN SEXTILE URANUS:

On Saturday June 23rd at 1:58 A.M. EDT this positive sextile will complete early in the morning, so its effects will be felt more on Friday night. This is a moment when we can all make changes in attitude and direction more readily and with less resistance than usual. Uranus wants change, and when it’s in a productive aspect such as this one it will allow you to alter your perspective. Mercury will oppose Pluto later this morning (see below) and add a deeper and more delving layer to most situations. If you can use these two aspects proactively you may be able to dig out some important truths and aim your energy and attention where they can do you the most good. This is not a day to follow your usual routine, but rather a time to explore and look at your world from a different perspective. Explore and see what’s out there. Take a different route, eat in a new restaurant or meet some new people. This is a day for stimulation and adventure.

MERCURY OPPOSITE PLUTO:

Also on Saturday June 23rd at 5:24 A.M. EDT this powerful opposition will complete. This is an unrelenting force that will dig deeply into any conversation or ideas that arise. There is nothing superficial about Pluto. It has a strong need to uncover whatever is buried and bring it to the surface. Because this closely follows the Sun sextile Uranus mentioned above it should be easier to do that. But remember that this aspect doesn’t bend easily and there can be an obsessive attitude that might make it difficult to compromise. Be honest with yourself and with others, and don’t be afraid to hear what will be said. But don’t take everything at face value. The compulsiveness this can create may make you unyielding and stubborn. Try to keep an open mind. If arguments abound it might be more productive to leave some issues alone for a day or two and revisit them when easier transits are active. There’s no point to fighting just for the sake of the battle. Keep an eye on your real objectives and you will see what disagreements are worth having and which ones should be sidestepped.

VENUS SQUARE JUPITER:

On Monday June 25th at 1:19 P.M. EDT this pleasant square will complete. This is usually a very sociable transit that favors all interaction with others. But it comes with a word of warning. These are the two planets most associated with pleasure and self-indulgence. When they are in hard aspect to each other they won’t create the combative nature that many transits can produce. But there is a tendency to overindulge and to avoid responsibilities. Too much rich foods, alcohol or other physical pleasures is certainly a possibility, so use some common sense. But if you’ve completed your work for the day and just want to sit outside at a café and enjoy the company of your close people, have a ball. The conversation should be pleasing and light-hearted, and you will enjoy yourself. This is also a great day to take in any form of art or entertainment. See a show, a concert or visit a museum. You may have moments of enlightenment and a depth of understanding that surprises you.

MARS RETROGRADES:

On Tuesday June 26th at 5:05 P.M. EDT until August 27th at 10:05 A.M. EDT in the sign of Aquarius the god of war begins its backward trek. Because of the close proximity of the earth’s orbit to Mars, this occurs once every 2 years. It’s a powerful transit that often accompanies world events involving military operations and decisions that have a long-term effect on our society. Because this retrograde occurs mostly through the Uranus-ruled sign of Aquarius there may be some explosive and dangerous occurrences this summer. I think we may see some more gun violence, terrorist situations and other problems we have unfortunately become more and more accustomed to. The political situation will continue to be contentious and there could be some very direct and forceful decisions made that stir up great opposition.

At the end of July and into early August Mars will be in square to Uranus, a very dangerous transit. There is a good chance of violence or struggle in the world, and it would be wise on a personal level to avoid dangerous situations. Pick and choose your fights carefully. Many people will respond to this energy negatively, so don’t waste time on useless disputes. With Saturn in trine to Uranus through much of the summer there will be an underlying sense of stability that could help settle down the financial markets, but it isn’t strong enough to prevent explosive moments and that’s what we can expect with a retrograde Mars in conflict to Uranus. That trine completes in September, and some situations that take place this summer in a more stable atmosphere and seem to have been resolved could become explosive once Mars reenters Aquarius in September and once again squares Uranus.

Use caution and keep an eye on your temper. Many people feel quite frustrated while Mars is in retrograde and find it quite difficult to express their ego. This can internalize some anger and they may not even be aware that these feelings are present. Avoid confrontations and make sure the situation is worth arguing about. Pick and choose your battles carefully. Most of us will be looking for confrontation to some extent, so don’t give in to every little agitation.

In personal relationship you can expect some volatility and a desire for action and new perspective. This can be a very exciting aspect, but it isn’t terribly stable. Keep a good perspective on your relationships and don’t be afraid to question someone’s motivation. It’s better to know than not to.

THE SUN OPPOSES SATURN:

On Wednesday June 27th at 9:28 A.M. EDT this rather heavy aspect will lower the energy level most of us experience. This isn’t a bad aspect as much as a limiting and demanding one. This is a day or two when we should all be focusing on our work and obligations. It’s a good day for clearing your desk, finishing any work that requires your attention and for making plans and setting agendas. People will be short tempered and some frustration is common, so be aware and don’t waste time on foolish arguments. If something is important enough to confront then do so. But your energy will be restricted so don’t waste it on frivolous issues. We will all be paying more attention to detail than usual, and it’s a good time to look over any paperwork or contracts. You may discover some mistakes you had missed.

Tuesday and early Wednesday are not a good few days for parties or important dates. Time with old friends is fine, and you may enjoy the ease of being around those you don’t feel the need to impress. But a big social gathering will feel limp and won’t have the excitement you hoped for. Once this completes the energy level will rise as the day goes on, so you can plan something for this evening.

FULL MOON:

This month’s lunar peak occurs on Thursday June 28th at 12:53 A.M. EDT at 6 degrees Capricorn 28 minutes. This is usually one of the least excitable Full Moons, although it will bring up issues of values and obligations. Whatever is most important in your life at the moment will be the focus of this energy, and these issues can fall into crisis mode if not handled well. This can be true in our personal lives and in world events. There may be some issues on the political front that are brought to our attention now with potentially severe repercussions. On a personal front pay attention to what you’re thinking about and you may realize that you haven’t been facing some responsibility that will become more important in short order. It may be financial matters or it could involve an important relationship, either personal or business. In any case, you need to be aware of what’s more pressing and deal with it. Otherwise the time from now until the next New Moon will feel burdened and you may find it difficult to move your plans and projects forward. On the world stage there are serious problems that must be put into perspective or they can fester and begin to disintegrate the foundation we have relied on. Capricorn is most concerned with the stability and structure of things, and that is where this Full Moon will be felt most powerfully.

MERCURY ENTERS LEO:

On Friday June 29th at 1:17 A.M. EDT until September 5th at 10:39 P.M. EDT Mercury will be traveling through the fixed fire sign. Leo rules the stage, and it has a strong desire to be heard. When Mercury is in this sign we can expect some dramatics as people displayed their theatrical side. It’s a good placement for travel, especially for pleasure. Leo rules the 5th house of children, romance, games and entertainment. A week at the beach with the Sun in Cancer and Mercury in Leo may be a great chance to share some memorable moments with your close friends or romantic partner.

There is joyfulness about Leos that I find very easy-going at times. Although it is a fixed sign and can be stubborn, if you’re out having a good time they tend to let things slide. This is a creative period as well, and if you’re involved in the arts, especially theatre or movies, you may be inspired. Mercury will square Uranus tomorrow (see below) so you would be wise to wait a few days before embarking on your journey.

MERCURY SQUARES URANUS:

On Saturday June 30th at 9:01 P.M. EDT this potentially explosive square will create a tense atmosphere for a day or so leading up to its completion. Until this passes you can expect communications to be sharp and direct. Arguments are common, so be careful what you say and how you say it. This is a difficult aspect for travel. Accidents are possible, but usually because you are distracted. If you pay attention to what you’re doing you can avoid any pitfalls. Tempers may flair up so keep a lid on things if possible. Remember, if may not be you who is angry but the person on line in front of you. Drive defensively today and double check all communications. It’s very possible to miss an important email or message.

THE SUN TRINES JUPITER:

On Friday July 5th at 7:04 A.M. EDT this very pleasant and easy transit will complete. This is closely followed by Mercury in opposition to Mars (see below) a more difficult and explosive aspects. While this trine will give us all a sense of ease and comfort, that opposition may create disagreements and overpower this easy-going energy. If these two are used well together you could have an important and high energy discussion without allowing it to turn into an argument. That’s up to you. But don’t assume that everything is going to go along pleasantly. The Mercury – Mars opposition is coming right on the heels of this trine. These complete early this morning, and with a little care you should be able to avoid any difficulties.

MERCURY OPPOSES MARS:

Also on Friday July 5th at 7:49 A.M. EDT this energetic transit may bring up some difficult issues. Disagreements are common, and many people will be looking to express some pent up anger. If you are aware of any tension within you should be able to circumvent most problems. It’s usually unconscious energy that seeps out of us and becomes explosive. Awareness is all and with a clear mind you will be able to use this powerful force to focus on issues that require your attention. Conversations will be lively and might lead to disagreements, but it could also be a vivacious discussion that brings things to the surface and allows you to clear the air. This completes early in the morning, so while you’re standing on line at Starbucks try to hold in any animosity you may be feeling. Use extra caution while traveling. This is true certainly behind the wheel of a car, but also while walking, taking the bus or any other mode of transportation.

THE SUN TRINES NEPTUNE:

On Sunday July 8th at 10:42 A.M. EDT this rather gentle aspect will just give us all a few hours of pleasant energy. It’s a great time to take a walk through the park, listen to the birds and squirrels or chat with a friend. This isn’t a very energetic force, and you may not even be aware of it. But as with many transits if you use it to your advantage it will allow you a moment of pleasure and calm. 20 minutes of mediation twice a day will lower your blood pressure and extend your life. Here’s an opportunity to experience that consciousness even without riding a mantra. This is a creative time as well, so take advantage of it.

MERCURY SQUARES JUPITER:

On Monday July 9th at 5:14 A.M. EDT we will all find our minds moving quickly and have a lot to say. Just be aware that the usual filters between your mind and your tongue probably aren’t working at the moment and you may say things without thinking them through. Don’t be surprised if you awaken earlier than usual and find it difficult to fall back asleep. This is an active energy and your thoughts will be quick and powerful. Unless you are up and about when this hits its effects will pass rather fast and you may not gain the most from it. If you are out on the road this morning I suggest that you pay close attention to what you’re doing. It’s easy to be distracted and you may make mistakes. The same is true in all your communications. Jupiter isn’t very good with details, and sometimes information comes at you at an accelerated pace, which may be difficult to keep in focus. But it’s a sociable and pleasant energy and can lead to some good writing or conversations.

VENUS ENTERS VIRGO:

On Monday July 9th at 10:32 P.M. EDT until August 6th at 7:28 P.M. EDT Venus will enter this Mercury ruled sign. Romance will be more cerebral and for the next month you will be apt to think things through rather than just reacting. Virgo can be a picky sign with much attention to details. That’s not a bad thing, though it can at times feel less impulsive and exciting. Because Venus has much to do with love, friendship and romance if you’re looking for a dreamy type of relationship it may not occur now. But if you seek something that is rational and more logical, it may be within your grasp. With Mars in retrograde now as well Venus will take the forefront in relationship issues, so don’t try to push your ego out. Let things unwind naturally and talk with your romantic interest. You may find that you have more in common than you realized.

JUPITER GOES DIRECT:

On Tuesday July 10th at 1:04 P.M. EDT Jupiter starts moving forward again after months of its backward motion. This is often a time of reversals in many issues. If there’s some project or plan you’ve been trying to achieve it may be easier to move it forward now. Jupiter wants growth, and now that it’s going direct it will project that sense of expansion onto the outside world. This is often a time when the equity markets change direction, often moving up, and with Saturn in trine to Uranus now as well I expect some growth in the stock markets. But there are underlying problems that aren’t going away, and even if we do see a new high in the DOW it will be short lived. In the fall when the Saturn – Uranus trine completes the support it has created will begin to unwind.

If you’re planning to travel, especially to a foreign land this would be a good time to begin your journey. But any trip, even a short drive to the beach will be pleasant and expand your consciousness. This is also a good time to teach, or complete a creative project and present it to the world. People will be more open-minded and apt to pay closer attention to what you have to say.

Any legal matters that have been delayed or confounding may be resolved soon. This is especially true if some things have been hidden and unspoken. Jupiter wants truth in all things and it will not tolerate secrets for too long. You could uncover something that seriously changes a legal situation. That could also occur in a personal relationship, so be prepared for an honest and truthful encounter.

VENUS TRINES URANUS:

On Wednesday July 11th at 11:26 P.M. EDT we have a chance for some exciting and interesting interactions. Many people will be more open to new and adventurous things, and you could find someone quite different from your usual people. This is a positive aspect and it will allow you to explore and try a fresh approach to romance, friendships and creative projects. Try to be open-minded to new input. There is a chance for an exciting romance if this hits your chart just so. But even if you don’t find your summer fling right now, there are many ways this can manifest including an exciting journey with friends, the discovery of some new art or music, or just new ways of looking at your life.

THE SUN OPPOSES PLUTO:

On Thursday July 12th at 6:01 A.M. EDT this intense transit falls on the Dark of the Moon. Many projects that seemed to be completing may fall apart without warning. This transit often manifests as a power struggle, and coming at the end of the lunar cycle it could undermine some issues that you thought were on solid ground. If so, don’t hold on too tightly. Let them go and see the situation with a new approach after tonight’s New Moon. Expect some difficulties with others. Oppositions always work themselves out through other people, and with Pluto active now there will be a strong desire to delve deeply into any situation that arises.

On the world stage we may hear about some international problems that defy easy resolution. This is not a good time to negotiate any complex situation either personally or collectively. If something has been leading to an end, this dark of the moon may be a good time for completion. But if things aren’t settled properly or there has been a rush to judgment it will most likely fail soon after the New Moon.

DARK OF THE MOON:

The next New Moon falls on Thursday July 12th at 10:48 P.M. EDT at 20 degrees Cancer 41 minutes. The day or two leading up to it will be a particularly low energy period. If you tend to be emotional this may be a very trying time each month. I have found that people with prominent moons or a Cancer Sun, Moon or ascendant respond to the lunar cycles more intensely than others. Spend this time finishing up anything that is incomplete, don’t try to initiate new projects on a waning moon, it just won’t work out. Once the New Moon hits you begin new projects or attempt a new approach to an existing problem. If you have been living in a situation or involved in a relationship that is intolerable or has outlived its usefulness this would be the proper time to move on with your life. If you have been working on a project that is almost complete but you seem to lack the energy for the finality, you must push during these low energy days to end the matter once and for all. If you don’t, when the New Moon arrives it will bring this “dead” energy along with it and conflict with the newer force being presented. Each month we are offered a chance to clean house, so to speak.

Note: All aspects are most powerful and effective as they apply. Once the transit has completed, its force is lessened. The further it separates the weaker it becomes.

Below is a list of times this month when the Moon is Void of Course and neither important decisions nor purchases should be made during these periods. The Void of Course Moon is a time when we should try to center ourselves and deal with spiritual matters not materialistic ones. Any decisions made on the VC Moon will not turn out the way we had expected.

The Moon is Void of Course from the time it makes its last major aspect in a sign until it enters the next sign. For example, if the Moon squares Mars at 27 degrees Aries and then has no more aspects until it enters Taurus it will be Void of Course for three degrees or about 6 hours.
