February 2017

AUTHORÕS NOTES:

Anyone who disagrees with my point of view is welcome to do so. Dissent is a foundation of the American system. If you no longer wish to receive my newsletter please let me know and IÕll take you off the mailing list.

Okay, so here we are barely one week into the Trump presidency, and already the outrageous actions this man is taking has riled up the populous in ways we havenÕt seen since the Vietnam War. Trump has shown that he has no regard for the constitution or the American people.

I truly believe that Mr. Trump is psychotic. There, IÕve said it. This is the most dangerous person to ever hold any office, let alone the presidency. His chart, which is available on my website, shows an unhinged character with no sense of boundaries or proprieties, and his actions confirm that diagnosis. He is a Full Moon Gemini Sun with the Moon in close opposition in Sagittarius, and Uranus conjunct the Sun. But thatÕs only the highlights of this immensely troubling natal chart. There is an in depth interpretation of his chart on the website as well. With this much Uranus energy in his chart he is by definition a contrarian, someone who will take the opposite side of any argument just for the volatility. There is a reason why I warn my readers to be careful whenever a harsh aspect involving Uranus takes place. We already know that he is a liar, a conman and an unfeeling narcissist. But more than that, Donald Trump is a destroyer. He will destroy anything that he can. And he will not change. Please, let us not allow him to destroy this nation.

Mikhail Gorbachev recently warned that in his opinion it looks like the world is gearing up for war. In my Dell Horoscope article about the 2019-23 period I made a point to show how whenever Saturn and Pluto are in hard aspect to each other (conjunct, square or opposition) we have armed conflicts in the world.

The conjunct occurred in 1914 at the start of the First World War. In 1939 they were in square at the beginning of World War Two. The next conjunction occurred in 1948-49 when Mao ZedongÕs communist party defeated the Chinese Nationalists and took control of China. In 1965-66 they were in opposition when President Johnson sent 125,000 troops to Vietnam. And so on. Please review the article, which will be posted on my website soon, to see all of the examples of how this combination of stressful energy has played out in the past.

In 2020 Saturn and Pluto conjunct once again in Capricorn. But this time we will also have expansive Jupiter and the god of war, Mars as part of the conjunct. I have little doubt that we are looking at some form of serious violence during that period. Because this stellium sits on AmericaÕs Pluto I believe that we will be directly involved. Pluto rules a number of things including fossil fuels and Plutonium. The Sum of all Fears is that this configuration may manifest as a nuclear incident. Because Pluto rules the 12th house in the Sagittarius ascendant chart for America it could represent an internal struggle, or a rebellion of some sort, and I think there is a chance that we really are heading for a collapse of our internal structure. The American people will not sit back as this administration destroys the foundation of our society and steals the safety net that has kept our country stable since the 1930Õs. But that period of 2019-23 will not be contained to this nation. When I look at the way Trump is redesigning the world, and how his philosophy and desired loyalties are the antithesis of our nationÕs policies for the past 70 years, I think this is going to be a major conflict involving much of the world. And I have never wanted to be more wrong with a prediction in my life.

Trump may have a hidden agenda with Putin that will make him and his family incredibly wealthy. And he may believe that the Russians can be dealt with and compromise can be found. But the rest of the world, especially Europe, has no such illusions. They will arm themselves in anticipation of when Trump cripples NATO and hands Eastern Europe to the Russians. And then all hell will break loose. We are all watching with great anticipation.

I was proud to be in the womenÕs march last Saturday. The crowd looked to me to be about 1/3 men, and many young men and women who came out on a Saturday to stand for hours in a crowd of strangers to let their voice and presence be known. They didnÕt go to a movie, or brunch, or sit in front of a computer. They walked with us perhaps finally understanding just what is at stake in a nation such as ours. It was a wonderful day, the most passive outpouring of outrage and anger in a generation, but also of support for the women we love.

But it isnÕt nearly enough. Demonstrations donÕt do much if thereÕs no follow through. If the Democrats do not take the majority in the Senate mid-term elections there will be no stopping the dominoes that have already begun to fall. If there isnÕt a powerful and continuous grassroots movement to open voters eyes to whatÕs happening and sway them to resist this administration, we will head right off a cliff.

IÕm not totally without hope. There are so many educated, powerful and wealthy people in this country who will not sit idly by and allow this to continue. A group of mayors across the nation came together and firmly told this administration that they will NEVER allow their citizens to be carted off like cattle. Most of these citizens are hardworking, tax paying people just looking for a chance to have a decent life. These mayors swore they will not allow families to be broken up or children torn from their parents. How many of those mayors will hold the line remains to be seen. Already the mayor of Miami has caved in. But I donÕt think that Trump will be able to accomplish very much. There is no real agenda, he and his cabinet have no experience in governing, and there will be a solid and unbending wall built around him by those Americans who will not step aside and kowtow to this nonsense.

But you must realize that all of this: Building the wall to Mexico, deporting immigrants, defunding Planned Parenthood, attacking Roe V Wade, and all of the other actions are nothing but smokescreens to TrumpÕs real agenda, which is to make as much money as possible and to have complete and total power. At some point he may use an event, or more likely create it, that he will say gives him the right to declare martial law. The Republicans, even the more moderate and thoughtful are lining up behind him like baby ducks behind their momma. They will attempt to destroy voterÕs rights, continue to gerrymander the maps, and make it impossible for a Democratic president or congress to win. This coming mid-term election may be our last chance at stopping this onslaught of our rights.

Those who voted for Trump because they believe in his policies have every right to do so, and while I donÕt agree with it, I will fight for your right to hold that point of view. But to all of those people who didnÕt vote for any other reason -because Ņyou didnÕt like Hillary,Ó or Ņit would be just as bad if she had wonÓ or any other nonsense. To the African Americans who didnÕt listen to ObamaÕs pleas to vote and stayed home, to the Latino voters who didnÕt vote or backed Trump despite how he treated them, but mostly to those who didnÕt get out on Election Day, I say: You got what you deserve. And as the months pass and we see more and more chaos and regressive actions pushing us back a century we will all pay the price.

Trump will be stopped as all demagogues eventually are, sooner or later. But some of the damage has already been done, and there will be much more before this is over. He may not complete his term as many have suggested. We shall see. But the fact that he was elected at all and has immediately proven to be just as erratic and uncontrollable as he was in the campaign shows just how dysfunctional our culture is, and how far to the right America and most of the rest of the world has turned. Normally we stay slightly to the left or to the right of center. Now we are off the charts. And thatÕs never a good thing on either side of what used to be an aisle and has become a chasm.

On another note:

There is an interesting astrological condition right now. Pluto is at 17 degrees Capricorn. Uranus is at 21 degrees Aries. Jupiter is at 22 degrees Libra, & Saturn is at 23 degrees Sagittarius, so the inner quicker moving planets will aspect each of those 4 in quick succession, as you will see in this monthÕs newsletter. Because of this lineup of the planets there will be quite a number of short periods when the transits create more intensity than they normally would. There will be fluctuations in moods and activities depending upon which planet is being set off. It should be an interesting month.

NEW MOON:

The New Moon falls on Friday January 27th at 7:07 P.M. EDT at 8 degrees Aquarius 15 minutes. Our lives work in phases that we often donÕt even pay attention to. There are astrological periods of intense transits that begin and end chapters of our existence that are known to those of us who study the celestial arts, and we try to explain them to our clients and friends. But mostly people just keep pushing forward, sometimes against the wind because they arenÕt aware of when that wind is in their face and when it is against their backs. But there are a few moments that we as a society are conscious of. For example, each New YearÕs Eve many of us make resolutions to begin anew and attempt to repair or change our direction. Of course, as an astrologer I believe that January 1st is an arbitrary point in time, and think of the first day of Aries as the New Year, but no matter how one looks at the yearly spinning of the wheel there is a desire to find moments that are more effective in creating change. Each month the New Moon offers us a chance to begin a new cycle. Most people are only slightly aware of this ongoing point and tend to ignore it. ThatÕs a shame.

On each New Moon we have the ability to begin new ventures or take ongoing ones to the next level. This is why I have begun my newsletters on the New Moon for the past 17 years. And each of the 12 lunar sequences addresses different parts of our consciousness and should be viewed from the perspective of the sign where it takes place in order to make the most of our energy and time.

The New Moon in Aquarius is interested in anything that is revolutionary or fundamentally different. This is not a time to settle into a lethargic mood or to just muddle along waiting for chance to direct us. This is a time to explore radical and innovative ideas and to push the normal boundaries a bit more than usual. We certainly have entered a new era in world politics that this New Moon will exemplify. But as is the case with Aquarius and its ruler, Uranus, there will be strong and opposite reactions that will create conflict and tension. With the Sun in Aquarius since Inauguration Day we certainly have seen the beginnings of that. Now with the New Moon starting another episode we can expect even more of the same. The sense of revolution is taking place on both sides of the political discussion, and there will be inevitable crashes between the two.

On a personal level this is a time to explore avenues that are new and unusual. Take a look at your life and try to see where youÕve been too staid and unwilling to stretch the boundaries. This is a time for new plans and schemes. Anything that has outlived its usefulness in your life will become quite obvious now. This is a time to expand, explore and unfetter those connections that constrain or confine your growth. Otherwise they may feel so constrictive that it will be difficult to move forward.

MARS ENTERS ARIES:

On Saturday January 28th at 12:39 A.M. EST until March 9th at 7:34 P.M. EST Mars will travel through the sign of its rulership. This is a time of assertive actions and ideas. There will be many things moving forward now at an accelerated pace, and it may be difficult to keep up. While this is a progressive energy and a very directed and positive force, it can be a bit overwhelming. Try not to take on more than you can handle. Aries and Mars have no sense of patience or limitations. I often say that Aries jumps off the diving board and on the way down looks to see if thereÕs water in the pool. So use a little caution, if you can find it so you can avoid difficulties down the road. Things that have become bogged down should start to move once again. But try to direct your energy into the projects that are most important so you donÕt waste it. Remember that Aries and Mars can react in a quick and at times unthinking way. With Mars entering this sign some restraint is called for, but will be in short supply. In romance people will tend to be more assertive and even present an aggressive attitude. With Venus joining Mars in Aries of February 3rd this will become even more obvious.

One unfortunate result of this placement now is that it gives Trump and his circle more force behind their awful and derisive policies, and will probably make it easier for his cabinet picks to slide into office.

MERCURY CONJUNCTS PLUTO:

On Sunday January 29th at 3:18 P.M. EST this powerful moment completes. As I said in the AuthorÕs notes above, because of the placement of Pluto, Uranus, Jupiter & Saturn square all within a few degrees of each other, the inner planets will aspect each of those outer luminaries within a short period of time. On Tuesday Mercury will square Uranus (see below) and complete its effect on that fading and quite dominant and demanding aspect of Pluto square Uranus as it slowly wanes.

Today is a time of deep and revealing thoughts and communications. Many things will come to the surface now, and some will be uncomfortable and perhaps too revealing. Secrets will be unveiled this week as a result of this conjunction and will continue on the impending Square of Mercury to Uranus. It may be difficult to hide things this week, so be prepared for exposure. Of course this is a quick moving transit, so it will not last long. But the effects may linger for some time. The best way to approach this is openly and to view things honestly and without fear. Anything that is revealed will probably be better off out in the open. Transits are never there to hurt us, but rather to teach us things that are necessary to come to terms with.

MERCURY SQUARES URANUS:

On Tuesday January 31ST at 10:31 P.M. EST this potentially explosive transit could easily blow things out of proportion. Communications will be sudden and erratic, and it will be easy to speak without thinking. It closely follows the Mercury conjunct Pluto mentioned above, and will continue the mental stress that has already begun. Mercury rules communication and thoughts. Uranus has no sense of balance or stability. As we know, it is very prominent in our presidentÕs chart, and we can all see from his actions and reactions that there seems to be no filter between his thoughts and his words. It would behoove us all to recognize this and to attempt to guard against speaking without forethought while this square is in orb. Pay attention to what you are saying, and if possible hold your tongue until you have focused your thoughts. Use caution while traveling. Accidents and misdirection are very common. Because ideas and thought will come at you very quickly and without restraint, people will be easily distracted. Anger is often another effect of this square, so if someone looks mad you would be better off sidestepping any confrontation.

MERCURY SQUARES JUPITER:

On Thursday February 2nd at 10:16 A.M. EST ideas and words will once again flow at an accelerated pace. This isnÕt as bad as the Mercury square Uranus we experienced ad few days ago, and in fact JupiterÕs influence can make this an optimistic and outgoing day. But there still will be a fast and furious output, and it will be easy to misspeak or be distracted by the speed at which thoughts come to you. This is another day to use caution while traveling and you must double check all plans and directions. Overdoing things is common with Jupiter, and here it will be most evident in communications. So take a deep breath before answering someone, especially if you disagree. Also, do not make promises you cannot keep. Jupiter wants to please everyone and will often say ŅyesÓ just to satisfy the moment. But then when itÕs time to fulfill that promise you may find that you are overextended. Those who tend to be overly chatty will probably have difficulty restraining themselves.

VENUS ENTERS ARIES:

On Friday February 3rd at 10:52 A.M. EST the female planet enters this Mars ruled sign. Venus can feel very out of place in aggressive Aries, and most people will be very direct and even overly assertive in relationships. Be careful not to act in a pushy manner with your significant other, or even with your close friends. With both Mars and Venus in Aries the Martian energy will be dominant, and itÕs possible for VenusÕ more receptive and usually gentle nature to be pushed aside. The world is most certainly showing its aggressiveness, and even though it took place before Venus entered this sign, the ŅwomenÕs marchÓ had a feeling of stress in anticipation of this aspect. We are not in a gentle period, my friends. We are in a time of confrontation, and battle lines being drawn. And the aspects surrounding us are clearly pointing that out. But in your personal life while Venus is traveling through Aries you must be aware and counterbalance this assertiveness with understanding and compassion.

Venus will retrograde in this sign on March 4th at 4:08 A.M. EST until April 15th at 6:17 A.M. EDT. It will reverse back into Pisces for a while, and then return to Aries. IÕll discuss the retrograde and change of signs in next monthÕs newsletter. But be aware that this retrograde is on the horizon. Venus goes backwards every 18 months, and it can be a difficult period for personal relationships and financial matters. This may prove to be especially true while the retrograde is in Aries.

JUPITER RETROGRADES:

On Monday February 6th at 1:52 A.M. EST until June 9th at 10:04 A.M. EST until June 9th at 10:04 A.M. EDT the planet of growth and optimism begins its yearly backward trek. This doesnÕt mean that nothing is going to expand, although you may recognize some delays and a slowdown in projects, especially those that involve building and reaching out to a large audience. Things will continue to grow at a slower pace. ItÕs a time to shore up any projects youÕre working on and make sure they can support more expansion. Whenever a planet goes into retrograde its innate force in internalized and works best in the unconscious. This is a good time to examine your inner conversation to see where you can enlarge your perspective and how best to prepare for when this planet once again goes direct. This often coincides with a reversal in the stock markets, and as I believe they are seriously overvalued at the moment, I expect this to be a temporary top in the equities. There was a hard push to get the DOW above 20,000, which is a psychological benchmark. But now as the reality of what some of TrumpÕs plans will entail we should see a pullback in stock prices.

The reversal of direction of Jupiter may put the brakes on the steamroller push by this new administration and give the world a chance to analyze just what his policies will mean. That doesnÕt mean that he will change direction, or that those who oppose him will gain much ground. It only means that there may be a slowdown of the fast and furious motion he has put into play.

MERCURY ENTERS AQUARIUS:

On Tuesday February 7th at 4:36 A.M. EST Š February 25th at 6:08 P.M. EDT Mercury, the lower octave of the mind, travels through Aquarius, ruled by Uranus, the higher octave. A number of geniuses have been born with Mercury in this sign, and there is something to be said for the connection between the two. When these energies work well together itÕs easier to grasp difficult and unusual concepts and to direct your thoughts more freely and without the usual restrictions. But there is also a tendency to be erratic and lack self-control. If you can focus your thoughts where they will do you the most good, this will be a productive and exciting time. But if they get out of hand and become scattered it may be a period when things donÕt get done in a logical way, and projects will remain unfinished. I have found that the best way to deal with this combination is to use the spark of genius for innovative ideas, and then to put some of them aside to work through after this has completed. The old adage that genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration has proven to be true most of the time. For example, a brilliant thought for a new book may come to you in an instant, and you should jot it down. But writing that book may take you a year. While Mercury is in this sign this will a period of inspiration. It will be followed by a period of perspiration.

THE SUN SEXTILES URANUS:

On Thursday February 9th at 4:15 P.M. EST this positive aspect will complete. For a day or so leading up to it we will all be more experimental and look for unusual ways of expressing ourselves. With Mercury just entering Uranus-ruled Aquarius there is an underlying sense of experimentation and exploration into new ideas. For a few days individuality is most important, so donÕt put yourself in a situation where you must subjugate your ego and your point of view. Because this is a positive sextile it will be easy to show your more outspoken side without stirring up much opposition. But while this isnÕt a dangerous combination like the conjunct, opposition or square, itÕs still important to use some caution as the usual boundaries and rules are not in effect. Try to find something unusual to engage in. If you usually listen to classical music, perhaps today you would enjoy a jazz concert. If your taste in food tends towards the bland or plebian, why not try an exotic cuisine?

MERCURY SEXTILES VENUS:

On Friday February 10th at 4:18 P.M. EST communications will take on a more pleasant and easy-going tone. This is a very nice transit for all conversations and short trips. It falls right before the Leo Full Moon so many people will feel outgoing and wish to express themselves. Leo rules the stage, and this sextile will be very helpful for those in the performing arts. It should help many of us, actors or not, get our feelings out without reserve. This isnÕt a very powerful transit, and many will not notice its subtlety. But if you wish to have an important conversation or other form of communication that isnÕt controversial, this will make it easier to say whatÕs on your mind. But be aware that because of the lack of desire for confrontation, you may not be apt to stand up for an idea you believe in, and could seek compromise where you normally wouldnÕt. If there are issues that are contentious or divisive and need to be worked out you will be better off waiting until this passes or you may not be happy with the outcome. This is a very sociable transit and a date or group gathering will probably be very pleasant.

FULL MOON:

This monthÕs lunar peak occurs on Friday February 10th at 7:33 P.M. EST at 22 degree Leo 28 minutes and it is an eclipse. This can be one of the showiest of Full Moon. Many people, especially those with Leo energy in their charts, will feel the urge to be in front of the public in some way. If youÕre in the arts you may choose to perform, but even if youÕre not you may be the life of the party. All Full Moons demand our respect, and you should be careful in your journeys. Remember, a Full Moon is the opposition from the Moon to the Sun, so that opposite and often erratic energy of Aquarius if activated. A bit of caution is called for. But if you pay attention you can enjoy this moment and, if this sets off your chart in the right way, you may have an experience or encounter that can be quite stimulating and exciting. A year or two ago we had a huge snowstorm right on the Leo Full Moon. Maybe we will again.

The Full Moon is the peak of the lunar cycle, so anything that began near the New Moon will come into focus and build to its highest point now. This is why we often hear important news (positive or negative) around this time. Because this is a lunar eclipse and will be followed by a solar eclipse on February 26th (they always travel in pairs) this will be even more intense than usual. Caution is called for. You must be careful how you respond to the energies around you, and should expect the unexpected. DonÕt assume things are as they seem. There is a good chance that you arenÕt hearing the whole story or seeing the big picture. Eclipses literally block out the light of the Sun or Moon and can either put things in the dark. But they can also expose them in unexpected ways. Because we have a number of aspects this month that can bring out secrets, you should be aware of that possibility. We may uncover some very harsh and frightening truths this month. And with our nation and the world in the shape they are in, almost nothing would surprise me.

THE SUN TRINES JUPITER:

On Saturday February 11th at 10:25 A.M. EST this very positive trine completes. This is a day or two of enthusiasm when most of us will feel some optimism and have a far-sighted perspective. This is a good aspect for travel or anything that will expand your consciousness. ItÕs a very social energy and you should try to spend time with someone whose company you really enjoy. This is a playful aspect, so find someone with whom you can be loose and child-like. Because there is a Jupiter-Saturn sextile in play at the moment the inner planets will aspect each within a short period. The Sun will sextile Saturn, a more stoic energy, on Tuesday, St. ValentineÕs Day. If possible I would suggest that you and our partner have your celebration of love on Friday night or Saturday while this trine is in play.

THE SUN SEXTILES SATURN:

On Tuesday February 14th at 12:58 A.M. EST this is a positive and productive sextile that will give us a few days of focused energy when our attention will be aimed towards what is most pertinent in our lives. This is ValentineÕs Day, and while this sextile can be very positive, it isnÕt a terribly romantic transit. Many couples will find this to be more of a sobering day than an exciting one. But love takes on many faces in its quest for longevity, and one of those faces is stability. ThatÕs more likely what we can expect from this transit. ThatÕs why I suggested the celebration of love should probably take place earlier in the weekend. This wonÕt be a wet-blanket on your relationship, but it will be more realistic than love often prefers. In any case, enjoy this day and remember all the different things that love means to us.

MERCURY SEXTILES MARS:

On Thursday February 16th at 1:15 P.M. EST we will all have a more forceful approach to communications. This is a sextile so it wonÕt force itself upon you, but the only difference between a hard aspect and a soft one is how easy it is to use the combined energy. Sextiles and trines are more malleable and easier to focus, but still this is a combination of MercuryÕs communications and Martian forcefulness. Be careful how you speak to each other. You will be prone to get your point across in a direct and honest fashion, and you can do so without upsetting the apple cart. But It is also easy to say things that you may regret later on after this positive aspect passes. And you might find that the next time these two planets are in square or opposition that what is said now in a light-hearted way can be brought up again much more harshly.

THE SUN ENTERS PISCES:

On Saturday February 18th at 6:32 A.M. EST we enter the mutable part of winter. This sign is the last of the zodiac and in some ways the culmination of the yearly cycle. As we conclude the solar journey and head towards the New Year on March 20th we are given a chance to complete things and tie up loose ends. This is a month when we should all look at our ongoing projects and plans and try to recognize those that have validity and should be continued into the New Year, and those that donÕt. If you can be clear about whatÕs working and what isnÕt, you can direct your energy into more productive avenues and avoid getting bogged down in useless endeavors.

Pisces is the most unattached of all the signs. In some ways itÕs the most spiritual, although I donÕt like to judge oneÕs approach to the ethereal. It certainly is the sign that is least concerned with what we call reality. As such, when there is an abundance of Piscean energy it often feels as though your feet arenÕt really on solid ground. This is a time to explore your inner voice and to look for ways to help others. But try to also keep an eye on the material world. That is where we live, and right or wrong it requires our attention so we donÕt make mistakes and find that once this enlightened period ends, we are lacking in what is necessary to sustain out stability.

MERCURY SEXTILES URANUS:

On Monday February 20th at 11:10 P.M. EST this excellent connection will stimulate ideas and give us a day of unbridled curiosity. This is a good day for adventure and exciting interaction. Conversations will be lively and some new and unusual ideas may come up. Try not to limit yourself to the old tried and true. Get out and look for something different. Because of the close proximity of the planets this is the first of three positive Mercury aspects that will complete this week. ItÕs the beginning of a brief period when our minds will explore uncharted avenues and we may be able to come up with some ideas that havenÕt been tried in a sometime. Allow yourself the mental room to roam about and see out new ways of expressing your inner thoughts.

MERCURY TRINES JUPITER:

On Tuesday February 21st at 1:27 P.M. EST this extremely positive transit follows on the heels of the Mercury sextile Uranus we experienced yesterday. This is an expansive and optimistic day when you should allow your thoughts to go where they may and not limit the possibilities. This is a very good aspect for any traveling. Short journeys will expand your consciousness and open your mind to new ways of looking at the world. If youÕre beginning a longer trip this is a great aspect to do so. While other aspects will occur when you are on that journey, the beginning of anything often represents the potential of that event. With this trine in play you can expect a good start and hopefully a trip of discovery and a new and larger perspective.

MARS SQUARES PLUTO:

On Wednesday February 22nd at 3:59 A.M. EST this difficult and potentially dangerous square will complete. Luckily it falls early in the morning for many of us, so there will be less likelihood of encountering direct problems. But still use caution. If you are out late, make sure that you have a safe way home and avoid any dangerous neighborhoods or situations. As with all transit there is a potentially positive side as well. This is a combination that will root out anything that has been hidden or ignored. You may find that some issues come up that you hadnÕt paid attention to, that now demand your focus. If so, you would be better off dealing with them directly. But if there is a power struggle being pushed upon you that you do not feel up to handling at the moment, you should probably do your best to sidestep it and not confront it now.

MERCURY SEXTILES SATURN:

On Thursday February 23rd at 4:45 P.M. EST we will all be more realistic and focused about things. Thoughts and communications will be direct and honest, and this is a chance to put your work in order. Clean up your desk and arrange your projects in terms of whatÕs most important. If you use this energy correctly it will give you a day of clarity and purpose. This is the last in this series of Mercury aspects in this lunar cycle, and itÕs fitting that we should end on a Saturn aspect. You must look at things from a clear and unfettered point of view. Whatever else has taken place in thought, communication or actions must now be reviewed honestly. We are at the end of the lunar month and will soon begin anew. What have we learned these past few weeks, and how can we use that information to our advantage? Those are the questions that Saturn would like answers to.

MERCURY ENTERS PISCES:

On Saturday February 25th at 6:08 P.M. EST until Monday March 13th at 5:08 P.M. EDT Mercury joins the Sun and Neptune in this last sign. This is a period when intuition will be more important than intellect. You should follow your instincts and recognize that some of your thoughts and ideas are coming from the ethereal plane. If youÕre able to let go of the need to control your thinking you may come more in contact with the spiritual side of life. While I donÕt think we should ever completely let go of logic, this is one of those times when it would be wise to meditate in some way and go deeper into that part of our brain that rests outside of what we call reality. This falls at the very end of the lunar cycle, and represents a moment of completion and understanding that may not be easy to rectify in our conscious minds. But if you can embrace that spiritual side you may discover some very important things about yourself and the world around you.

DARK OF THE MOON:

The next New Moon falls on Sunday February 26th at 9:58 A.M. EDT at 8 degrees Pisces 12 minutes. The day or two leading up to it will be a particularly low energy period. If you tend to be emotional this may be a very trying time each month. I have found that people with prominent moons or a Cancer Sun, Moon or ascendant respond to the lunar cycles more intensely than others. Spend this time finishing up anything that is incomplete, donÕt try to initiate new projects on a waning moon, it just wonÕt work out.

Once the New Moon hits you begin new projects or attempt a new approach to an existing problem. If you have been living in a situation or involved in a relationship that is intolerable or has outlived its usefulness this would be the proper time to move on with your life. If you have been working on a project that is almost complete but you seem to lack the energy for the finality, you must push during these low energy days to end the matter once and for all. If you donÕt, when the New Moon arrives it will bring this ŅdeadÓ energy along with it and conflict with the newer force being presented. Each month we are offered a chance to clean house, so to speak.

Note: All aspects are most powerful and effective as they apply. Once the transit has completed, its force is lessened. The further it separates the weaker it becomes.

Below is a list of times this month when the Moon is Void of Course and neither important decisions nor purchases should be made during these periods. The Void of Course Moon is a time when we should try to center ourselves and deal with spiritual matters not materialistic ones. Any decisions made on the VC Moon will not turn out the way we had expected.

The Moon is Void of Course from the time it makes its last major aspect in a sign until it enters the next sign. For example, if the Moon squares Mars at 27 degrees Aries and then has no more aspects until it enters Taurus it will be Void of Course for three degrees or about 6 hours. The aspects used are the conjunction, sextile, square, trine, and opposition. All times are Eastern Daylight Time:

Please note: In response to requests from readers I have added a few VOC Moons into the next lunar cycle for those who need to make plans before my next newsletter is released.
