ISSUE # 153
AN ASTROLOGICAL NEWSLETTER
My end of the year forecast will be completed soon, and I will make them available. IÕm also putting my notes together and hope to have that long overdo lecture in late November.
On my recent appearance on Coast to Coast AM Radio, with George Noory I made only a few predictions. Two of the predictions that I have been stating for over a year I repeated on his show; the Euro will fail, and there will be areas of America and Europe that will see martial law. Neither of these predictions makes me happy. The Euro was started January 1st 1999 at exactly midnight, giving it a 2 degree Libra ascendant. The chart shows a natal weakness that would be difficult to overcome, and almost guaranteed a serious shake-up, if not total failure. There is a T-Square with the Moon at 24 degrees Gemini, in opposition to Mercury at 21 degrees Sagittarius, and in square to Jupiter at 21 degrees Pisces. The Moon therefore rules the 10th house of career and status in the world. The Euro immediately started out giving Europe more status and a larger spot on the world stage, as we would expect with the square to Jupiter. But in time the overexpansion that is common to Jupiter aspects took over, and there wasnÕt a strong enough foundation to resolve that T-Square. With Venus ruling the 8th house in a tight square to Saturn, there would be a limitation to what this entity could expect through other peopleÕs resources. The collapse of Greece, and the imminent fall of Spain, Portugal, and Italy will be more than the German banks can withstand.
In January 2013, Pluto will begin to conjunct the Sun in this chart, and by late April, Uranus will square it. That combination will be sufficient to pull the foundation out from under this currency. If the natal chart were stronger it could survive these aspects. But I doubt that will be the case. Saturn will be sextile the Sun at the same time, but due to the difficult 30 degree angle between the Sun and Uranus in the natal chart, Saturn will also be in square to Uranus at the same time. This will be a very difficult time for the European community. In truth, the chart of the Euro is now an active chart for the continent in general. It is the only thing that is holding this group of ancient enemies together. Economic warfare is just as devastating as any other kind, and it will be the predominant battlefield of the 21st century.
As the Uranus – Pluto square I have been writing about this past year comes closer, its effects will be more obvious. Certainly we will see several more nuclear ÒeventsÓ, which may manifest as accidents, or terrorist situations. Pluto rules plutonium, and Uranus rules explosions. With this square so prominently active in many charts in the world, including AmericaÕs, I expect at least a token reminder of this underlying problem. The Japanese nuclear accident was the first example of this squareÕs energy. While the opposition of Pluto to AmericaÕs Venus and Jupiter will complete November 2011, the square by Uranus lasts until February 2013. In 2014 we begin the opposition of Pluto and the square of Uranus to AmericaÕs Sun. In April 2014 they are both exactly in orb to our Sun. Uranus then linger until February 2015, while Pluto hangs around until December 2015. This means that we are facing several years of tense encounters, restrictions, and power struggles that will ultimately change the way we all do business. The world is being altered in ways it is difficult for the individual to see. But those changes, while they may be harsh and uncomfortable, have shaken us from the deadening and self-destructive path we were on. Capitalism must be redefined, not destroyed. A melding of several philosophies expounded in the 19th and 20th centuries must be combined to create a balanced world without the violent financial ups and downs humanity has always experienced. Then we can truly enter the Aquarian age and restructure our world. As difficult as these times may be, I see this as a positive step towards defining humanityÕs true battle; preserving the environment that nurtures us all, no matter what your political point of view may be.
We will also see an expansion of the social unrest now called Occupy Wall Street. It will continue to grow and come to a head in 2015. But that wonÕt be the end of the matter, merely a shift to larger issues as we watch ecological problems grow. This is the beginning of a real world-wide revolution similar to the 60s, but different in fundamental ways. The world is much more in tune with events, due to the internet, and instant communication will change the way we have revolutions too.
The fracking fever that has gripped Middle America will be a catastrophe. Already England has had 2 earthquakes scientists are blaming on this procedure. Pennsylvania farmers have in droves signed away the rights that no person should have to begin with. We donÕt own the land, it owns us. We merely inhabit it for a short while. To strip it and make it uninhabitable for anyone else isnÕt economic; itÕs criminal. Upstate New York is about to be destroyed for a pocket full of cash and a few years worth of gas. What a short-sighted species we are.
Mercury will retrograde right before the next New Moon, so we will leave this lunar cycle on a confusing and discordant note. Try to complete your monthly issues before November 24th, or you may find yourself bringing incomplete projects and problems into the next New Moon. On going projects should be prepared for the next stage of development, which will take place on that retrograde next month.
Remember, Mercury retrograde will screw up your day to day activities and projects, but it slows the world down, giving us a chance to catch up on important communications and plans. This is a good time to delve deeply into any conversation. We tend to be less guarded and more interested in the real meaning behind things. It is also a good time to get someoneÕs attention you may have been seeking. Although phone calls and emails may be lost or misinterpreted, once you reach that person they will have time to listen. So use all of the aspects, especially the more difficult ones, to your advantage. Learn what the energy is about and how it fits into your life. Where Mercury retrogrades in your own chart by house and aspects will tell you where you can expect to encounter issues about communication, plans, or travel.
The New Moon falls on Wednesday October 26th at 3:56 P.M. EST at 3 degrees Scorpio 03 minutes. Scorpio gets a bum rap in astrology, as IÕve said many times before. It is a terribly misunderstood sign who energy is so absolutely necessary to the welfare of all. We are made up of all 12 signs, and where each falls in our personal horoscope tells us how we can best use the power of that sign. Scorpio is the energy of rejuvenation; life and death; the ongoing cycle of everything. It is the perpetual motion machine, constantly reinventing and recycling itself. Where Scorpio falls in the individualÕs chart is where they can strip off the old, worn out, and unnecessary, to be replaced by the new, innovative, and fresh. Scorpio, and its ruler, Pluto, rule all things having to do with the elimination of waste, in the body, and in the society in general. It has domain over the parts of the body that remove waste, including the more obvious areas, but also sweat glands and tear ducts. It rules garbage pails, compacters, dumps, toilets, the trash chute in your apartment building, etc. It is only by pruning a garden that there is room for new growth.
MERCURY SQUARES MARS:
On Friday October 28th 11: 08 A.M. EST this aspect presents an argument waiting to happen. Tempers will flair, and itÕs best to avoid direct confrontation, if possible. Use caution while traveling this morning. If you are feeling angry, perhaps you should not be behind the wheel of a car. If this sets off your chart it could result in disagreements, or even an accident.
THE SUN OPPOSES JUPITER:
Also on Friday October 28th at 9:42 P.M. EST this expansive transit completes. While this can be an optimistic and sociable transit, it does tend to blow things out of proportion. Try to keep an even keel and perspective. This is a good night for socializing, especially in a group. Just be careful not to overspend, or overindulge in food, drink etc.
VENUS SQUARES NEPTUNE:
On Monday October 31st at 5:21 P.M. EST this difficult aspect comes along. This will create confusion in your most intimate relationships, especially if it sets off your chart. There is a fog surrounding love and deep friendship that can be distracting. Not everybody will be telling you the truth; hidden agendas and distorted facts will abound. Take things with a grain of salt. This can also be a day of overindulgences. Use caution with food, drink, drugs, sex, or any other pleasure seeking event. It is also possible to react badly to alcohol or any drug (legal or illegal has no bearing in medical astrology).
MERCURY SQUARES NEPTUNE:
On Tuesday November 1st at 4:39 A.M. EST Neptune now afflicts Mercury, planet of thought and communication. Expect confusion to reign supreme today. Nothing will be as it appears, and it is most important to find clarity, or at least to ask for definitions and lucidity. Use caution while traveling. Misdirection and mistakes are common, and it would behoove us all to drive defensively. Double check all paperwork and use extra care with all important documents. This is not a good day for negotiations, or an important meeting. Try to reschedule.
VENUS ENTERS SAGITTARIUS:
On Wednesday November 2nd at 4:51 A.M. EST the planet of love and possessions enters this most frivolous of signs. Things will be out of control in those areas of life. A love affair begun with this placement will be expansive and enjoyable, but probably lack any sense of boundaries. Those born with this placement can overindulge in many areas of life. It takes a lot to hold down the Sagittarius energy and use it to your advantage. But if you can, it can be exciting, enjoyable, and growth-oriented.
MERCURY ENTERS SAGITTARIUS:
Also on Wednesday November 2nd at 12:54 P.M. EST Mercury joins Venus in this Jupiter ruled sign. Speech will take on a looser air than of late. People will be more chatty and sociable. This sign can blow things out of proportion and likes to talk, even when there is nothing to say. DonÕt take everything at face value. Make sure there is substance behind the words. This will be a good month for travel, both short and long journeys, at least until Mercury retrogrades on the 24th right before the next New Moon.
MARS OPPOSES NEPTUNE:
On Monday November 7th at 7:36 A.M. EST this difficult energy completes. Mars and Neptune do not see eye to eye on many things. Mars rules the ego, and Neptune is iconoclastic by nature. There is a watering down of the maleness in us all; the ego finds it difficult to express itself in a self-less environment, and the ability to push against the wind is severely limited. DonÕt put yourself in a position that requires a great deal of force; you may not have it, especially if this opposition hits any of your personal planets. This is usually a very negative aspect for the markets.
NEPTUNE GOES DIRECT:
On Wednesday November 9th at 1:55 P.M. EST the ruler of Pisces turns around. All Neptunian projects, ideas, and attitudes will become more world-oriented and less self reflective. Creative ventures will fare better in the material world, and any projects that have been worked on behind the scenes will now be subject to scrutiny by the outside. It may be time to publish your story, or send it to an editor, depending upon its level of completion. It is also time to project that self-pity out towards others who need your aid. One of NeptuneÕs lessens is to teach us compassion; both for ourselves and other people. There is a time for each. An over-simplification is to say that a retrograde planet will internalize the energy of that planet, and once it goes direct we project its influence through our dealings with others. Now until June 4th 2012 when it retrogrades again, itÕs time to shine that light for your friends.
This monthÕs lunar peak also occurs on Thursday November 10th at 3:16 P.M. EST at 18 degrees Taurus 05 minutes. Taurus rules the 2nd house, and its focus is about money, values, and security. With Mars about to enter Virgo the banks may be in for another round of tension, especially the European banks. This may be a big day for the markets, so watch carefully. We will all have to deal with issues of values today, and for some there may be a crisis involving finances or a decision regarding what is most important to you. If this Full Moon falls on your Venus, or the ruler of your 2nd house, you should use caution in all financial matters.
MARS ENTERS VIRGO:
Also on Thursday November 10th at 11:15 P.M. EST Mars enters this most critical of signs. Attention to detail will be most important for the next few months. Because Mars will retrograde in Virgo in January, its will remain in this sign until July 4th, much longer than usual. Virgo is the sign of the auditor, and when Saturn transited here from September 2007 – July 2010 the banking industry was scrutinized and found lacking in foundation, which led to the infamous bail out by the feds, and the subsequent weakness in that industry. Now with Mars spending an extraordinary amount of time here, we will see battles (Mars) over the audits that take place in several areas of our culture, including the banks, pensions, etc. This will also add fuel to the Occupy Wall Street movement, which will lose some of its force when Mars enters Libra in July, only to regroup and push forward again in late August when Mars enters Scorpio.
On a personal level, try not to be too critical with the people in your life. It is easy for the assertiveness of Mars to manifest as nit-picking and contentious in this Mercury-ruled earth sign.
MARS TRINES JUPITER:
On Wednesday November 16th at 5:08 P.M. EST this positive and outgoing aspect will complete. This is a good time for any social gathering, or to expand a business idea. Personal relationships will run smoothly, but egos will certainly be prominent and assertive. DonÕt expect people to back down. But because this is a trine it will be easier to find common ground or compromise. You can use this energy proactively and direct things where you wish them to go, as long as you have a direction in mind. Otherwise this will just be a day when you can get a lot of hard work done without much difficulty.
THE SUN SQUARES NEPTUNE:
On Sunday November 20th at 3:44 P.M. EST this difficult aspect comes along. This is not a good day to assert yourself or push things forward. The energy isnÕt there, and things could work out badly. It would be better to sit back and wait until this passes. This is often a confusing time when misdirection is common and mistakes quite possible. This is usually a very bad day for the stocks, and since it falls on Sunday I would watch the Asian markets carefully for an indicator of our Monday opening. Weakness in those markets should carry over to ours.
THE SUN ENTERS SAGITTARIUS:
On Tuesday November 22nd at 11:08 A.M. EST we enter the mutable part of autumn. Now we morph into winter as each day gets shorter and shorter until the winter solstice on December 22nd at 12:30 A.M. We sometimes forget that the first day of winter is actually the shortest of the year. From then on we are heading towards the spring, so try to see beyond the immediate horizon and into the beautiful future.
THE SUN TRINES URANUS:
On Wednesday November 23rd at 5:15 A.M. EST this positive aspect completes. This is a day for innovation and exploration. DonÕt follow your usual routine, but get out into the world and see what it has to offer. This completes early in the morning, but its waning force should be present for much of the day. Try to see things in a new way. And donÕt be afraid to step off the beaten path. There is much to see that you may have missed, even in your own neighborhood.
MARS TRINES PLUTO:
Also on Wednesday November 23rd at 9:02 A.M. EST this productive trine will occur. It will be easier to get others to work in a joint venture while this energy is active. All aspects lose much of their potential once they have completed, but if there is something that is ongoing and requires a group effort; this will linger throughout the day and afford us some of its support.
On Thursday November 24th at 2:21 A.M. EST until December 13th 8:43 P.M. our mischievous little devil begins running backwards, and so will our lives. As always, expect delays and leave extra time for travel. Triple check your plans and have a contingency for everything. This is not a good time to purchase cell phones, computers, cars, boats, planes or a pair of Dixie cups and a thread. Anything having to do with communication, travel, or technology is better off left until this planet reverses direction. Of course, often under this energy we will find out devices breaking down. If so, you may be forced to replace something now. Get the warrantee and keep the box it came in. This is a bad time to negotiate any type of contract. Errors and very prominent, and mistakes of all sorts could be overlooked, only to haunt you later on. But this is a terrific time for important conversations that require depth, honesty, and the willingness to reach for a higher truth.
DARK OF THE MOON:
The next New Moon falls on Friday November 25th at 1:10 A.M. EST at 2 degrees Sagittarius 37 minutes. The day or two leading up to it will be a particularly low energy period. If you tend to be emotional this may be a very trying time each month. I have found that people with prominent moons or a Cancer Sun, Moon or ascendant respond to the cycles of the moon more intensely than others. Spend this time finishing up anything that is incomplete, donÕt try to initiate new projects on a waning moon, it just wonÕt work out. Once the New Moon hits you begin new projects or attempt a new approach to an existing problem. If you have been living in a situation or involved in a relationship that is intolerable or has outlived its usefulness this would be the proper time to move on with your life. If you have been working on a project that is almost complete but you seem to lack the energy for the finality, you must push during these low energy days to end the matter once and for all. If you donÕt, when the New Moon arrives it will bring this ÒdeadÓ energy along with it and conflict with the newer force being presented. Each month we are offered a chance to clean house, so to speak.
Note: All aspects are most powerful and effective as they apply. Once the transit has completed, its force is lessened. The further it separates the weaker it becomes.
Below is a list of times this month when the Moon is Void of Course and neither important decisions nor purchases should be made during these periods. The Void of Course Moon is a time when we should try to center ourselves and deal with spiritual matters not materialistic ones. Any decisions made on the VC Moon will not turn out the way we had expected.
The Moon is Void of Course from the time it makes its last major aspect in a sign until it enters the next sign. For example, if the Moon squares Mars at 27 degrees Aries and then has no more aspects until it enters Taurus it will be Void of Course for three degrees or about 6 hours. The aspects used are the conjunction, sextile, square, trine, and opposition.
All times are Eastern Daylight:
